David G. Shelton, DMD
Dr. Shelton received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1972. He graduated from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry in 1976 with a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree. He and his wife, Debbie, moved to New Port Richey right after graduation. They have three children, each graduating from Gulf High School in Pasco County.
Dr. Shelton has served the state dental board by being a Florida Dental Examiner for several years. He is past President of the West Pasco Dental Association, and is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, and West Pasco Dental Association.
His goal is to continue offering a top quality family dental practice to the residents of New Port Richey and the surrounding communities. He loves dentistry and “the health it brings to our patients.”
Dr. Shelton also enjoys free diving, scuba diving, and fishing, each requiring a love of the water. He has enjoyed being on the water since moving to Florida in 1977, and has even obtained his U.S. Coastguard Captain’s license.
David W. Thompson, DMD
Dr. Thompson was born and raised in Kentucky. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. From there, he completed his undergraduate studies from Florida State University in 1972 and went on to study dentistry at the University of Louisville, where he graduated in 1976. It was while he was attending Louisville that he met both Dr. Shelton and Dr. VonSick. He is married to his lovely wife Valerie and has three children, and two dogs.
Dr. Thompson has maintained a full time practice since 1976 and persued hundreds of hours of interrelated continuing education courses. His focus has been to become a premiere provider for advanced and comprehensive aesthetic dentistry.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and is a charter member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Also among his interests are memberships in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the West Pasco Dental Association where he was a Past President. He has also served as an examiner for several years with the Florida State Board of Dentistry and is a member of the ADA Clinical Evaluator Panel.
William J. VonSick, DMD
Dr. VonSick was born in the bluegrass state of Kentucky. He attended the University of Louisville and undergraduate school and received his D.M.D. degree (Doctor of Dental Medicine) in 1976 from the U of L School of Dentistry.
He practiced general dentistry in Louisville for 7 years, while holding a teaching position with his alma mater. In 1983 he moved to Florida to begin a successful partnership with his former dental school classmates Drs. Shelton and Thompson. Dr. VonSick and his wife Pat have three daughters and live in New Port Richey. For leisure he enjoys reading, playing guitar and being active in his church.
Since joining the dental community in West Pasco he has served as Peer Review Chairman and the President of the West Pasco Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, and the West Pasco Dental Association and is now a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Lyndsay H. McCaslin, DMD
Dr. McCaslin is originally from Owensboro, Kentucky and graduated from Daviess County High School in 1997. She graduated cum laude from Western Kentucky University at Bowling Green, with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2002. During that time she was active in the National Honors Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta, the America Student Dental Association, Kappa Delta sorority and the Equestrian team.
In 2006, Dr. McCaslin graduated from the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry. In the heart of horse racing country of Lexington, Kentucky, she continued her active memberships with the American Student Dental Association and joined the Kentucky Student Dental Society and the America Association of Women Dentists.
She spent three summers on the staff of Drs. Shelton, Thompson, and VonSick and joined the practice in 2006. Dr. McCaslin was impressed with a dental partnership of nearly 30 years, while continuing to instill new methods of cosmetic and general dentistry allowing for lifelong patient care. She truly believes that new ideas interlaced with the philosophy of a well-established practice, this partnership will always share the common bond of striving for excellence.
